30 Days of Night

Watched: 2/26/08
With: Joey, Chris, Michelle
Year: 2007
Reason for watching: Michelle rented it
Opinion: A very predictable vampire movie. Almost wish I had my 90 or so minutes back. Some tender moments but not enough to really care about the characters.
Watch again?: no
Recommend?: only if you're a die-hard horror fan

Blood and Chocolate

Watched: 2/23/08
With: Joey
Year: 2007
Reason for watching: Joey's Netflix
Opinion: For a werewolf type of movie, it wasn't bad. Olivier Martinez is great to look at. I prefer vampires but this one was still okay.
Watch again?: probably not
Recommend?: maybe

Shaun of the Dead

With: Joey
Year: 2004

American Gangster

Watched: 2/21/08
With: Joey
Year: 2007
Reason for watching: Netflix, plus it's Denzel
Opinion: Denzel Washington plays another strong character who happens to be bad yet good. I have to say that not only is Denzel extremely handsome, he is one of the best actors out there. It was nice to see a lot of familar NYC spots.
Watch again?: of course, it's Denzel

Saw IV

Watched: 2/17/08
With: Joey
Year: 2007
Reason for watching: Netflix
Opinion: Not quite as good as the first one but still a strong psychological connection with it. Another set up for other future Saw movies.
Watch again?: yes
Recommend?: yes

Saw III

Watched: 2/14/08
With: Joey
Year: 2006
Reason for watching: Joey's Netflix
Opinion: The DVD decided to crap out in the middle but I've seen it before. Another good mind thinker of a horror film.
Watch again?: yes
Recommend?: yes

Saw II

Watched: 2/14/08
With: Joey
Year: 2005
Reason for watching: Joey's Netflix
Opinion: I've seen it before and I love the Saw series. Little twists and turns that you don't always expect. This is just a perfect set-up for Saw III

Apocalypto

Watched: 2/13/08
With: Joey
Year: 2006
Reason for watching: Netflix
Opinion: Not as good as Passion but Mel Gibson did do a good job in directing. What bothered me the most was some of the really really bad computer graphics and puppet use.
Watch again?: probably
Recommend?: probably

Carlito's Way

Watched: 2/8/08
With: Joey
Year: 1993
Reason for watching: Joey's Netflix
Opinion: Still can't peg Al Pacino for a Puerto Rican but he did an overall good job in the film. It was nice to see parts of NYC again and not physically have to be there.
Watch again?: probably not
Recommend?: maybe

Law and Order: Special Victims Unit: The Second Year (Episodes 11-12)

Watched: 2/8/08
With: myself
Year: 2000
Reason for watching: Netflix
Opinion: One episode I had not seen before and it was another good one. It's amazing what some people can come up with when writing for television shows. The other one, I had seen several times.
Watch again?: yes
Recommend?: yes

Brazil

Watched: 2/7/08
With: Joey
Year: 1985
Reason for watching: Joey's Netflix
Opinion: It was a movie that dragged way too long. A simple idea that could have ended an hour earlier. Robert Deniro played a small role and was enjoyable to watch it. Probably should have watched it while high on something, like Joey's roommate had done in the past.
Watch again?: no
Recommend?: no
