Crash

Watched: 7/30/06
With: Scott
Year: 2004
Reason for watching: own it and been wanting to watch it again for a while
Opinion: Such a great movie. When I saw it in the theaters, I was blown away. It pleased me that it won the Oscar for Best Picture. I love how everything ties in with each other and that you're never 100% sure what is going to happen next.

A Watcher in the Woods

Watched: 7/30/06
With: Myself
Year: 1980
Reason for watching: Netflix, looked interesting
Opinion: A fairly scary and suspenseful movie from Disney. Bette Davis stars in it. I thought that I was getting the Kevin Bacon movie but am thoroughly surprised at this movie. Suspenseful. Cheesy acting in some parts. But overall pretty good.

A Charlie Brown Valentine

Watched: 7/27/06
With: Scott
Year: 2002
Reason for watching: Netflix and Peanuts fan
Opinion: This contained actually 3 "love" episodes. The first was done in 2002 and was called "A Charlie Brown Valentine." Animation was too new to have the same classic Peanuts feel. Still entertaining since Charlie is such a wimp when trying to face the Little Red Haired Girl. The second was "There's No Time for Love, Charlie Brown." This is back to the classic Peanuts style and entertaining. Mostly focused on the kids and school. The last was "She's Out There Somewhere, Charlie Brown." Poor Charlie. Gets Linus to try to get a girl and Linus ends up with her. Main lesson, don't send someone else to do what you want to do. Very funny.

Sophie's Choice (Part Deux)

Watched: 7/27/06
With: Myself
Year: 1982
Reason for watching: finish from last night-Netflix
Opinion: Meryl Streep did such an amazing job in this role of a Polish Nazi Camp survivor. Considering I don't know/remember who else was up for the Oscar, I would say that they gave the Oscar to the right actress. An overall great film and well casted.

Sophie's Choice

Watched: 7/26/06
With: myself
Year: 1982
Reason for watching: recommended by Netflix
Opinion: Since I've only watched about half of it, I'm going to wait to post my full opinion. I can understand why Meryl Streep received the Oscar for her role.
Watch again?: not sure yet
Recommend?: maybe

The King of Queens: Season 1 (Episode 25)

Watched: 7/26/06
With: myself
Year: 1998
Reason for watching: Netflix
Opinion: Sigh. The end of the first season. Great last episode. All in deciding whether or not to have a kid. I remember when I used to be like that.

Walk Away the Pounds: Walk and Jog

Watched: 7/25/06
With: Myself

New Best Friend

Watched: 7/22/06
With: myself
Year: 2002
Reason for watching: Netflix
Opinion: Okay, I'm going to be honest. The only reason why I bothered putting this okay movie on my list was because of Taye Diggs. He looks good and that's the only reason why I bothered to finish the movie. Wasn't a horrible movie and it had an interesting way of mystery solving going on.
Watch again?: most likely not
Recommend?: only to Taye fans

The King of Queens: Season 1 (Episodes 21 and 22)

Watched: 7/21/06

Year: 1998

The King of Queens: Season 1 (Episode 20)

Watched: 7/20/06
With: myself
Year: 1998
Reason for watching: something to do before I start dinner
Opinion: Ray Romano can certainly get on someone's nerves quickly. But the episode was pretty funny nonetheless.
Watch again?: yes
Recommend?: yes

The King of Queens: Season 1 (Episodes 17-19)

Watched: 7/20/06
With: myself
Year: 1998
Reason for watching: Netflix, just enjoy the series
Opinion: I haven't seen these so they were enjoyable to watch. I can see why Doug's friend Richie was not a part of the show for long. Spence's mom is too much.
Watch again?: yes
Recommend?: yes

Walk Away the Pounds for Abs: 2 Miles

Watched: 7/20/06
With: myself
Year: 2001
Reason for watching: exercise
Opinion: I only did 1 mile of the tape. Leslie Sansone has designed her exercise tapes to be done in whichever way you want to do them. So if you have favorite miles, you can do those miles. Not as good as going to the gym but I still enjoy doing them.
Watch again?: yes

Walk Away the Pounds Express: 1 Mile

Watched: 7/19/06

Opinion: a fairly good light walking workout. Not as good as some of other Leslie Sansone's walking tapes but still a decent workout.
Watch again: yes
Recommend: yes

Longtime Companion

Watched: 7/18/06
With: myself
Year: 1990
Reason for watching: Netflix
Opinion: Considering this was done when HIV and AIDS was becoming the main focus in the media, this was done okay. Not as good as other "AIDS Movies" but still done fairly well. This movie focuses on the male gay community and how AIDS affects them.
Watch again: maybe, but probably not.
Recommend: probably

The King of Queens: Season 1 (Episodes 12-14)

Watched: 7/18/06
With: myself
Year: 1998
Reason for watching: Netflix, need something to watch before I head to work
Opinion: Continue to love the series.
Watch again?: Definitely
Recommend?: yes

Syriana

Watched: 7/17/06
With: Scott
Year: 2005
Reason for watching: on Scott's Netflix-wanted to see it
Opinion: A little confusing. Lots of different parts that are never nicely matched together. I can understand the hoopla about the movie when it came out last year. Nice to see George Clooney not looking his best.
Watch again?: probably not
Recommend?: maybe

Walk Away the Pounds: 1 Mile

Watched: 7/17/06
With: by myself
Year: 2001

Opinion: It's a good low impact walking exercise tape that is easy to follow. I've been doing a lot of her tapes over the years and continue to enjoy them.

Cold Feet: Season 1 (Pilot, Episode 1)

The King of Queens: Season 1 (Episodes 4-11)

Watched: 7/16/06
With: some by myself, some with Scott

Opinion: Continue to love the series. Actually had seen one of the episodes before.
Watch again: Yes

Watched: 7/14/06
With: by myself

Elephant Parts

Watched: 7/13/06
With: by myself
Year: 1981
Reason for watching: Netflix, plus I'm a big Monkees fan
Opinion: It's nice to see Michael Nesmith known for something other than being the Monkee who wore that hat. This won the first ever video Grammy award. Even though, Mike wasn't my favorite Monkee, this is entertaining and it looks like Mike actually had fun doing this.
Watch again?: probably
Recommend?: probably to Monkee fans

Hostel

Watched: 7/12/06
With: Scott (did I even really watch it?)
Year: 2006
Opinion: Uh...yeah...um....yeah. Well definitely a Quentin movie. If you're a fan of sex and gore, then watch it. If not, then don't bother.
Watch again?: uh....no
Recommend?: mostly likely no

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

Date saw: 7/11/06
Watched it with Scott
Year: 2006
Reason for watching: loved the first one, big fan of Johnny Depp
Opinion: A lot of fun. Not as good as the first one. Must see the first one before this one or you might be a little lost. It was obvious that Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom had a lot of fun playing around-especially Johnny. Since he had stated that he was modeling his character after Keith Richards, I was waiting for a scene with a coconut tree and wasn't disappointed.
Worth seeing again?: Yes. I'll probably buy it since I already own the first one.
Recommend?: Yes

The King of Queens: Season 1 (Episodes 1 and 2)

Started watching: 7/11/06
Watched by myself
Year: 1998
Reason for watching: Netflix order-love the series and need something to do before I head into work.
Opinion: Leah Remini reminds me so much of myself (the sarcasm). And since Jeremy works for the UPS, I could relate to being married to a delivery service person. Just lots of good laughs. It also gives me a chance to watch episodes that I've never seen before.
Watch again: definitely
Recommend: Yes

Shakespeare in Love

Watched: 7/9/06
With: Scott
Date made: 1999
Reason for watching: cuddle time with Scott
Opinion: I loved this movie the first time I watched it. Luckily for me I watched it before because the way that I was feeling yesterday, my eyes were closed more than they were opened during the film. I ended up going to bed before it even was finished. I love the comedy in it and the way that the screenplay was written.
Watch it again: Probably, especially since Scott owns it.
Recommend: Yes

Hannah and Her Sisters

Date Watched: 7/9/06
Watched by myself
Date made: 1986
Reason for watching: Netflix
Opinion: Eh. I haven't really watched a Woody Allen film and watching this reinforced why. I basically watched it to waste time before Scott got up, plus being sick I needed something to do. It seemed a little out there-which is basically my opinion about Woody Allen. I found it hard to believe that certain characters were that oblivious to what was happening around them. Would I rewatch it? Most likely not unless someone asked me to. Would I recommend it? Probably not.

Oz: Season 4

Date Watched/Finished: 7/9/06
Watched with: Scott
Year: 2004
Reason for watching: have loved the season since it first came out-I'm slowly collecting the whole series.
Opinion: I haven't enjoyed this season as much as the previous ones-mostly due to the fact of the poor visual effects of background stories. Also, too many characters have come and gone throughout this season. Will be interesting to see what the 5th Season will bring considering the cliffhanger. Favorite characters to bring back-Keller, Adebesi. Favorite characters to go: Glynn, Pancamo, Moreles, Tim
